Processing Chicken

At about six weeks of age, chickens are collected from broiler farms by trucks equipped with special transporting modules and are taken to the processing plant.

Before chickens are processed they are electronically stunned to ensure they don’t feel any pain. They then go through an automated processing line where, once they are stunned, a blade cuts the throats, they are plucked, cleaned and then sorted for further processing as either fresh chicken meat or for turning into frozen supermarket meals or restaurant meals like chicken nuggets. They are then packed and enter our complex supply and transport system to get them out to the supermarkets, restaurants and most importantly, onto your dinner plate!
